Contracts, 4 minDMS contracts and data ownership: what to check before you license
Before licensing any records, read how your DMS agreement defines dealer data, what rights the provider keeps, whether bulk export and third-party access are allowed, and what counts as the provider's confidential material. Then match those answers against how the buyer handles data and what rights it asks for. Your own lawyer should read both documents.

Rules, 4 minGLBA and dealership data: what can never be shared?
Nonpublic personal information a customer gave the dealership to arrange financing cannot go to a non-affiliated company, such as an AI data buyer, without a privacy notice and a chance to opt out. In practice that keeps every F&I record out of a data deal. Service, inventory and process records sit outside that rule, but customer identities still come out of them first.

Records, 4 minService repair orders as AI training data
A repair order records a symptom, a trained technician's diagnosis and the fix, which is the kind of real working record AI training-data companies say they want. Nyne lists service histories among the records it takes. The value is in the cause and correction notes; the customer details and VINs have to come out before anything leaves the store.

Roughly where the store is, how to reach you and a little about its systems: from that you get back a short list of named buyers whose posted rules the dealership clears, or a straight "none yet".
This form takes a description only. Do not attach or paste exports, screenshots, ROs or customer files; we never need them.
Disclosure: this is an introduction service, paid (when a deal happens) by the company we connect you with.
Received. Here is what we do with it.
- Your headcount, trading years and systems go up against every buyer's posted entry rules and record lists.
- You get an email naming the buyers you clear, with the rule behind each. If the store clears none, the email says which rule it misses.
- A reply of yes is the only thing that triggers an introduction. Contracts are signed between the dealership and the buyer, after your lawyer has read them.
